Collette Blake
Collette Blake started doing Criminal
Defence work over 16 years ago in London.
Initially she started by attending Court to assist Counsel during Crown Court
hearings, ranging from Burglaries to very high profile cases and then in
addition attending police stations. When the Law Society introduced the
Police Station Accreditation scheme in 1997, Collette passed and has been
undertaking Police Station Work since.
Whilst at a local firm, Collette was
introduced to Prison Law and thoroughly enjoyed assisting prisoners
throughout their prison sentence on various issues that prisoners face.
Collette qualified as a prison law lawyer and passed her exams with
distinction, the only candidate in that year to do so.
Collette is very dedicated to helping her
clients and just recently, having successfully representing an IPP
prisoner before the Parole Board when they were considering whether he should
be transferred to open conditions. The client stated “I would not have
achieved this had I not had you as my lawyer; you put me on the right road and
helped me over the years”
Collette has set up several successful
prison law departments for various firms and is now a qualified prison law
supervisor and we are very pleased to have her on board.
